Real Madrid's squad has lost a total of 125 million euros in market value during the first half of the 2024/25 season. Kylian Mbappé is the player who has depreciated the most on Transfermarkt
The poor collective performance of Real Madrid in the first half of the 2024/25 season has negatively impacted the value of the 'merengue' squad. Although the whites are trailing Atlético de Madrid in LaLiga and ended the year lifting their fourth Intercontinental Cup, the poor performances in the UEFA Champions League and the drop in form of several Madrid stars are closely related to the fall in their valuation on the 'Transfermarkt' website.
In August, when the season began, the Madrid squad was valued at 1.335 billion euros. By December, its value had dropped by 125 'kilos', bringing the first team's value to 1.230 billion euros at the end of 2024. The player who has seen the biggest drop in price in the first half of the season is Kylian Mbappé, who went from being worth 180M€ after leaving Paris Saint-Germain to 160M€.
Tchouaméni, Rodrygo, and Camavinga have also lost value
On the other hand, Lamine Yamal continues to increase his value with FC Barcelona and has already reached 180M€ at just 17 years old. Like 'Kiki', his compatriots Aurélien Tchouaméni and Eduardo Camavinga have also lost 20M€ in their market value, each now valued around 80M€. The same goes for the Brazilians Éder Militao and Endrick Felipe, who went from being worth 60 million each to a current value of 40 'kilos'.
The case of the center-back is understandable due to the ligament tear he suffered a couple of months ago. The same applies to Dani Carvajal, who will also miss the rest of the season, although his value has only dropped a couple of million (10M€). However, Rodrygo Goes has seen a 'weight' drop in the market despite remaining active. The '11' dropped 10 'kilos' in his price from August to December, ending the year valued around 100M€. In total, 14 out of the 23 players in the Madrid squad have seen their price drop on 'Transfermarkt' this season, including:
- Brahim Díaz (-5M€),
- Andriy Lunin (-5M€),
- David Alaba (-5M€),
- Ferland Mendy (-4M€),
- Antonio Rüdiger (-1M€),
- Luka Modric (-1M€),
- Lucas Vázquez (-500,000€).
