Xavi Hernández continues to be a highly sought-after coach, which is evident in the growing interest of several teams in his services. What is the last club interested in hiring him? We tell you at FCBN
The future of Xavi Hernández after the end of his tenure as the coach of FC Barcelona has been a topic that has sparked a significant number of speculations. While the main idea of the Terrassa native seems to be taking a sabbatical period before returning to the sidelines, he has been the subject of several rumors linking him as a possible candidate to lead a major European team, as mentioned in the Manchester United agenda before they opted for Rúben Amorim, until a presumed candidacy to be the coach of the Qatar national team.
Recently, new information has emerged placing Xavi Hernández as a candidate to take on an unexpected new football destination outside of Europe. Suggestions have started in Argentina that the Terrassa native could be considered for the Inter Miami bench as the successor to Gerardo 'Tata' Martino.
It is worth noting that recently, there has been a growing rumor from American journalist Tom Bogert, published by the media outlet 'GiveMeSport', stating that the former FC Barcelona coach had decided to step aside as the coach of Inter Miami, apparently for personal reasons. However, this matter has not been officially confirmed.
Xavi Hernández has very good chances of being 'Las Garzas' coach
At this point, the potential candidacy of Xavi Hernández as the coach of 'Las Garzas' gains strength for some specific reasons. Firstly, the support of key club players such as Leo Messi, Luis Suárez, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets, who were his teammates at FC Barcelona and are familiar with his work style and what he can bring as a coach, thanks to the playing philosophy rooted in the 'Barça DNA'.
It is also argued that Xavi Hernández's arrival at Inter Miami could be facilitated thanks to a particular name: Xavi Asensi, a Catalan who currently serves as the general manager of the team chaired by David Beckham and had a close relationship with FC Barcelona as the club's commercial area director from August 2018 to June 2021.
The Terrassa native is not the only candidate to take over Inter Miami
Now, the outcome of this potential negotiation remains to be seen. If Xavi Hernández finds the idea of embarking on a new adventure at Inter Miami appealing, which is also among the teams mentioned to compete in the Club World Cup next year, and if they can agree on the terms, considering that apparently he is not the sole candidate on 'Las Garzas' list for the position.
In this regard, Inter Miami is also reportedly considering other free-agent coaches such as Tite (former Brazil national team coach), Joachim Löw (former Germany national team coach), Jürgen Klopp, Frank Lampard, Erik ten Hag, Massimiliano Allegri, and Maurizio Sarri to take over the bench that will be vacated by 'Tata' Martino.
