Officially, Andrés Iniesta is back in the world of football, now playing a new and interesting role. Which is it? We tell you at FCBN

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Not long ago, the historic footballer of FC Barcelona and the Spanish national team, Andrés Iniesta, announced his retirement from the playing fields, putting an end to a 22-year career. In addition to his time with the Blaugrana team, the Fuentealbilla native also played for Vissel Kobe in Japan and Emirates Club in the United Arab Emirates, where he concluded his professional playing career.

However, once Andrés Iniesta's retirement was announced, speculations began to emerge about what his next step in the world of football would be. There were discussions that the next natural progression would inevitably be coaching from the sidelines. However, in a total turn of events, the Spaniard will remain connected to the world of football in a completely different capacity, at least for now.

What will be Andrés Iniesta's new role in the world of football?

Recently, it has been revealed that Iniesta, through his agency 'Never Say Never,' in collaboration with the Hispano-Swiss firm Stoneweg, has become the majority shareholder of the team FC Helsingør in the Danish Second Division. With this new position, the Spaniard will venture into the world of football as a co-owner of this Danish club, whose coaching staff has notably been Spanish-ized.

The FC Helsingør team is led by the Majorcan Pep Alomar, who previously served as an assistant to Llorenç Serra Ferrer at Barcelona. Additionally, they have the collaboration of the Catalan Marc Velasco (another with experience at Barça) as an assistant. On the other hand, Quim Ramón, who has extensive experience managing the youth categories at the Catalan club, will serve as the sporting director in this new project.

The first words from Andrés Iniesta after the beginning of this new adventure

Andrés Iniesta had the opportunity to share his initial impressions as a co-owner of FC Helsingør. "We have started working with FC Helsingor because it is an incredibly exciting club with very good facilities, many good people within and around the club, and the potential in the city to become an important part of Danish football," he expressed to the Danish media 'Elsinore Dagblad' and 'TV2'.

Furthermore, the Spaniard has offered his perspective on what he expects from this new adventure, committing fully to this challenge. "There are great ambitions in the club, and we share them. Now we will work hard to align our experience in the footballing world with FC Helsingor. It will be step by step. We have long winter vacations ahead of us, but an exciting spring will follow," he concluded.
