Getafe could soon make an offer to FC Barcelona for Pablo Torre. The Cantabrian has played very little in the 24/25 season and is shaping up to be a fixed discard for Hansi Flick
Pablo Torre could have his days numbered as a player for FC Barcelona in his second stint with the blue and claret team. The Cantabrian has barely accumulated 267 minutes of action spread over 9 matches (4 as a starter) under Hansi Flick and has remained on the bench in the last 5 matches, despite not having any physical issues. According to 'Estadio Deportivo', the midfielder is very close to leaving for another LaLiga club in January.
It is Getafe, the latest club to show real interest in the Racing de Santander academy player. The 'blue ones' are expected to make an offer soon for the 21-year-old player, although the information does not specify whether it would be a simple loan or a transfer. For Barcelona, the latter option would be a great help, as the club still has not resolved its 'Fair Play' issues, meaning they will not be adding reinforcements in the winter.
Pablo Torre Will Not Rush His Departure from Barcelona
Beyond the limited role he has had so far, the player from Soto de la Marina does not prioritize leaving Barcelona in January. At least not in the first weeks of the winter market, as the '14' understands that the Copa del Rey and the Supercopa de España, along with the two remaining matchdays of the UEFA Champions League, will provide him with enough opportunities to make a final effort to earn a spot in the second half of the 2024/25 season.
If he surpasses the round of 32 in the Copa (against Barbastro) and the semifinals of the Supercopa (against Athletic), Barcelona will face a total of 8 matches in just 25 days in the first month of 2025. Hence, Pablo Torre prefers to take a couple of weeks to decide his future. If he does not get quality minutes during that period, it is very likely that he will end up accepting a new adventure at another Spanish club. In addition to Getafe, Girona, where he was already on loan last season, has also shown interest in signing him in the transfer window that opens next week.
