Calendar of FC Barcelona

Last summer, FC Barcelona opted for the signing of Pedri González, a talented 17-year-old Canarian attacking midfielder who came from UD Las Palmas and stayed on loan with the same team until next summer. His future from then on is unknown, having options to continue in his current team, go on loan to another First Division team or even join the Barça first team.

In an interview for Tiempo de Canarias, the young attacking midfielder spoke about FC Barcelona and the future challenges that he sees himself having as a Barça player. One of them is playing alongside the best player in the world. "There are many times that I have dreamed of being with Messi in a locker room or in a field. Hopefully it will happen," he said, jokingly adding that "at the moment I cannot imagine giving him an assistance, I will continue giving them to Rubén Castro."

"I love soccer played by Setién"
Another of Pedri's dreams is to be able to win the Champions League, as well as get to enter the Spanish team in a World Cup. "The truth is that my biggest dream is to win a Champions League, it doesn't matter with the team that is, winning it would be a dream come true. Above all, also, playing a World Cup, but with the absolute team," he explained.

He also showed his admiration for Quique Setién, former coach of UD Las Palmas and currently at FC Barcelona. “She really enjoyed Las Palmas when Setién coached her, that team played very nice football. I enjoyed with that Unión Deportiva Las Palmas as I enjoy seeing teams that play like this, like Ajax in the Champions League. With that football you can do great things ”, he considered.

In fact, Pedri would be delighted to place himself under the Santander's command. "Hopefully I can play a game with him in charge," he said of Setién, adding that "many people tell me that I fit into his game philosophy. I love the football that Setién plays, it's the one I like. Hopefully in the future I have the opportunity to play a game with him in command. ”

Pedri's future

In the latter case, Pedri himself does not rule out staying one more year at UD Las Palmas. "We will see. I would also welcome staying here. I owe a lot to Las Palmas. It is the club that has helped me out. I have to finish this season and we'll see later ", he said.
