The summer transfer market of 2025-26 for FC Barcelona looks promising, particularly in one aspect: the millions of euros that the Blaugrana could earn from players who are currently not part of the active squad. How is this possible? Thanks to a policy implemented some time ago by the Catalan club, where when selling players with potential to other clubs, a percentage of a future sale is retained, anticipating a potential revaluation of these 'cracks' who, for various reasons, did not find a place in Barcelona's sporting project.
In this regard, Barcelona has up to six names on its radar: Nico González (Porto), Óscar Mingueza (Celta de Vigo), Ilaix Moriba (RB Leipzig), Francisco Trincão (Sporting Club Portugal), Jean-Clair Todibo (OGC Nice), and Ez Abde (Real Betis), all with potential exits, some more likely than others. If these deals materialize, Barça would be accumulating a significant sum of millions of euros, which is crucial in a period where the club has faced certain economic challenges.
Jean-Clair Todibo
With this premise, Barcelona has already confirmed that they will receive around 8 million euros for Jean-Clair Todibo, a defender who will officially become a full-time player for West Ham next summer. This is due to a mandatory purchase clause of 40 million euros agreed upon during his loan to the 'Hammers' from OGC Nice last summer, from which the Barcelona club will receive 20%. This represents a good return for a player who was sold for 8.5 million euros to 'The Eagles' in the past.
Nico González
Barcelona is also keeping a close watch on Nico González, a midfielder who is having a standout season at Porto and, according to recent reports, is being closely monitored by Liverpool and other major European clubs. These clubs are interested in triggering his release clause, set at 60 million euros, from which Barça would get 40%, meaning around 24 million euros.
This would be another profit from a player who was previously sold for 8.5 million euros and whom Barcelona could reacquire for approximately 30 million euros, although this option seems unlikely.
Óscar Mingueza
Another player that Barcelona is closely monitoring is Óscar Mingueza, who has excelled in his new role as a right-back at Celta de Vigo and is attracting interest from other European clubs, including RB Leipzig.
Currently, his release clause is set at 20 million euros. Considering that the Barcelona team holds 50% of the rights for a future sale, they could obtain around 10 million euros from his transfer.
Francisco Trincão
Regarding Trincão, who has been one of the best players at Sporting Club Portugal this season, a sale in the short term is not expected. However, if an attractive offer arrives for the Portuguese team, the Catalans would receive 50% of the capital gain from his sale, meaning everything generated above the 7 million euros that the Portuguese invested to sign him from the Catalan club, which also has a buy-back clause of 25 million euros.
Ilaix Moriba
Regarding revenue, albeit smaller, Barcelona could also gain from the potential sale of Ilaix Moriba, who seems likely to stay at Celta de Vigo, as the Galician team could activate the player's release clause by paying the 8 million euros necessary to RB Leipzig to acquire the midfielder's rights. In this case, Barcelona would receive 10%, which would amount to around 800,000 euros. It is worth noting that the Guinean was sold for about 16 million euros to the German club.
Ez Abde
Lastly, there is the case of Ez Abde, who has also become an attractive asset due to his performances at Real Betis. If a significant financial offer comes in, the talented winger that Barcelona sold for 7.5 million euros could be transferred, with Barcelona retaining 50% of his rights for a potential future sale.
