BARÇA'S THIRD TOUR IN THE USA
Off to conquer the United States! Barça women's team heads to North America for pre-season tour
The Barça women's team is heading to the United States for its third pre-season tour on American soil, where they will play two friendly matches and participate in various activities prior to the start of the 2024/25 campaign
Let's conquer the United States! FC Barcelona Women's team is already travelling to North America for another pre-season tour in the USA. In America, the delegation will have two stops, the first in San Francisco and the second in Dallas, where they will play two friendly matches that will serve as a test for the start of the 2024/25 campaign.
There are 26 players who were called up by Pere Romeu for the tour, although the footballers Salma Paralluelo, Cata Coll and the youngsters Natalia Escot and Clara Serrajordi will join the group on Monday 26th, because they have been working on their fitness, due to some discomfort they have had in recent days. Irene Paredes will remain in Barcelona recovering from the muscle injury she suffered with the Spanish national team at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The Barça women's matches in the United States
The Barça team's trip to the United States is organised by NSN (Never Say Never), a company co-founded by former FC Barcelona captain Andrés Iniesta. The expedition is travelling on a regular 'Delta' flight and will first arrive in San Francisco. There they will train this Monday, August 26, before facing Bay FC at PayPal Park in San José (California) in the early hours of August 27-28 (04:00 Spanish time). Romeu's team will face top-level players such as Deyna Castellanos and Racheal Kundananji, as well as meeting up with former Barça player Asisat Oshoala.
The second match on North American soil will be at the majestic Cotton Bowl in Dallas (Texas) against the Dallas Trinity in the early hours of August 30-31, at 02:30 (Spanish time). This will be the first match for the American team in its new stadium. The Barça women's team will return to Barcelona on September 1 to continue their preparation prior to the start of the F league. In addition to the matches, the team will have three training sessions between San Francisco and Dallas. In addition, they will participate in various commercial events. This is the team's third tour of the United States, the first was mixed in the summer of 2018 and marked the first time the women's team was in the American market. In August 2021 it was the second, this time alone to play the Women's International Champions Cup in Portland (Oregon), where they finished in third place in the competition.
