Calendar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona will seek this Wednesday against Atalanta (21:00 CEST) their fourth consecutive home victory and the seventh in a row in the UEFA Champions League. The azulgrana team has already secured their direct passage to the Round of 16, but they can still reach the top of the group stage if they defeat the Bergamasque team and Liverpool loses in their visit to PSV Eindhoven.

Unlike LaLiga, where Hansi Flick's team has lost three times at home (against Las Palmas, Leganés, and Atlético de Madrid), their records in the Champions are almost immaculate. Barça made their home debut in matchday 2 against Young Boys with a 'manita' (5-0), the first of the season in Europe. The team recovered from the loss in their debut in the Principality against Monaco (2-1) thanks to goals from Robert Lewandowski (two goals), Raphinha, Iñigo Martínez, and Ali Camara (own goal).

Barça has been relentless in the Champions at home

In matchday 3, the azulgrana faced their 'boogeyman' in recent seasons, Bayern Munich, a match that marked a vital turning point for the team. The Catalans won decisively with a 'hat-trick' from Raphinha and another goal from Lewandowski (4-1), burying the ghosts against the 'Bavarians' with a true 'bath'. This was the first statement of intent for Barça in the 2024-25 season, just before visiting Real Madrid in the first Clásico of the league, which ended with another great thrashing (0-4).

Later, in matchday 5, it was time to host one of the revelations of the Champions, Brest. The French team arrived at Montjuïc among the top eight, but ended up losing without even registering a shot on goal in 90 minutes (3-0) in another great night for the Catalans. Lewandowski, with another double, and Dani Olmo sealed a victory that ended up being short given the performance displayed by a Barça led by a 'superstar' Pedri González.

In the midst of the three home victories, the azulgrana team did their homework against Red Star (2-5), Borussia Dortmund (2-5), and Benfica (4-5) to secure their presence in the TOP-8. Atalanta, however, must win to avoid playing the playoff in February. So far, the Italians are seventh with 14 points and a goal difference of +14 (the Catalans have +15 and 18 points).
