Calendar of FC Barcelona

Simply historic. Aitana Bonmatí has done it again. The current Ballon d'Or winner has received another distinction that reaffirms her as the queen of world football. The player from Sant Pere de Ribes has been crowned the winner of The Best 2024 Award as the best player in the world for the second consecutive year.

In this regard, Aitana Bonmatí, who has also recently been awarded the Golden Player Woman by Tuttosport, continues the dominance of Barça Women in this award. Before the midfielder won this accolade in 2024 and 2023, the historic Barça player Alexia Putellas had already received the distinction in 2022 and 2021.

WORDS FROM AITANA BONMATÍ AFTER HER CROWNING AS THE BEST 2024:

"Thank you, thank you for this new award. We just trained at the Olympic Stadium in Montjuic, where we have a big match against City in the Champions on Wednesday. I am very grateful for this award, but I always say this is a team effort, with a Barça that won everything and the national team. People contribute, they help me be better; without my teammates, I couldn't be the player I am. Now, let's go for more collective titles, which are what make you be here, and for me, they are the most important".

Aitana Bonmatí crowned a sublime 2023-24 season with Barça Women and Spain

Likewise, the '14' player was crucial with the Spanish national team to become champions of the UEFA Women's Nations League (MVP of the final), and her performance in the 2023 Women's World Cup earned her recognition as the best player of the tournament.
