Bayern Munich has officially announced the renewal of Jamal Musiala's contract until 2030, putting an end, at least for now, to any rumors about his departure from the Bavarian club
And one day the 'soap opera' surrounding Jamal Musiala came to an end! Finally, Bayern Munich has officially announced the renewal of one of its great stars: Jamal Musiala, who had a contract with the Bavarian team until 2026, which generated a whole series of speculations about a possible departure of the German star next summer.
The Bayern Munich, through its various communication channels, has officially announced the renewal of Jamal Musiala until 2030. "I am very happy: FC Bayern is one of the most important clubs in the world, this is where I took my first steps in professional football and I am convinced that I can achieve great things with this club in the coming years. I feel at home in the city of Munich and in the club with our fantastic fans. We have great plans together: I am looking forward to everything," stated the German 'jewel' after his contract extension was made official.

Musiala has renewed with an 'earthly' release clause
Regarding this case, journalist Florian Plettenberg from 'Sky Sports Germany' comments that now Jamal Musiala will earn an average salary between 25 and 26 million euros gross per year. This represents a significant increase in the earnings of the German international, who according to 'Capology' metrics, earned about 5 million euros gross per season with his previous contract.
Furthermore, with this significant salary increase, Musiala will become, along with Harry Kane and Manuel Neuer, one of the highest-paid players on the Munich team's roster.
At the same time, the door remains open for a possible departure in the future. As Plettenberg pointed out, Jamal now has a release clause of 175 million euros, valid from the summer of 2025 until the winter of 2028/29. From the summer of 2029 until the winter of 2029/2030, this would decrease to 100 million euros.
The Bavarians never doubted their ability to renew Jamal
With this renewal, Jamal Musiala, who joined Bayern Munich in 2019 from Chelsea's youth academy and quickly rose through the ranks to debut in the first team in 2020, is now more than tied to the Bavarian team. It is worth noting that the young German 'jewel' generated significant interest from several clubs around the world, including FC Barcelona, who, seeing his uncertain renewal situation, showed interest in at least keeping him on their radar for a possible future signing.
At this point, it is clear that despite all the noise generated around Jamal Musiala's renewal and his possible departure from Bayern Munich, his continuity with the Munich team was never in doubt, despite having offers from other clubs. This was commented on by Max Eberl, sporting director of Bayern Munich. "Big clubs around the world seek differential players, and Jamal Musiala stands out above all. He represents the present of FC Bayern, will also mark the future, and is the visible face of our new generation. With Jamal, we have convinced one of the most sought-after players in the world to stay at FC Bayern long-term. With players like this, we are sending a strong signal to the world that FC Bayern is also a force to be reckoned with in the future," he emphasized.
Bayern Munich continues to renew its stars
On the other hand, Bayern Munich is making significant progress in renewing its great stars this season. With Musiala's contract extension already secured until 2030, three key players of the squad have already sealed their contract extensions this season, the other two being Alphonso Davies, who has linked himself with the Bavarian club until 2030, and Manuel Neuer, who extended his contract with the Bavarian team for one more season.
In this sense, the only renewal that seems to be pending and perhaps the one that has generated the most rumors has been that of Joshua Kimmich. The player from Rottweil's contract ends on June 30, 2025 and it is still unclear whether he will continue with the Bavarian team.
