The draw for the 2025 Club World Cup ended with mixed luck for Real Madrid, in an accessible group, and Atlético, in the group of 'death'

The die is cast! The draw for the group stage of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which will take place between June 15 and July 13, was held this Thursday, December 5 in Miami and ended with mixed luck for the two Spanish representatives. While Real Madrid's path will be, a priori, more 'accessible', Atlético de Madrid will seek to advance in the 'group of death'.

The Merengue team, head of group H, was paired with RB Salzburg, Pachuca, current CONCACAF Champions League champion, and Al-Hilal, champion of the Saudi Pro League. The latter, in addition, will be a special match for the Whites, who will meet again with Neymar Jr. in what could be the last dance of two rivals who lived passionate 'battles' while the Brazilian was at FC Barcelona.

For their part, the team led by 'Cholo' Simeone was less fortunate than the Madrid players. The colchoneros will face the always difficult Paris Saint-Germain, Botafogo, champion of the Copa Libertadores, and Seattle Sounders, qualified for the tournament thanks to their triumph in the 'Concachampions' in 2022, this being the most even group in the first phase of the competition.

Other important clashes

Aside from the Spanish clubs, Lionel Messi's Inter Miami will face Palmeiras and Porto in Group A, while Bayern Munich will face Boca Juniors in Group C in a match worthy of the now defunct Intercontinental Cup.

Inter Milan will face River Plate in Group E and Manchester City will play a Champions League clash against Juventus in Group G.
