Madness for Lamine Yamal: the great protagonist in Spain's training

The Spanish National Team has returned to work for the first time in 2025, starting preparations for the double-header qualifier against the Netherlands corresponding to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Nations League. Two Barça players dropped from Spain's call-up

As many as seven players from FC Barcelona were part of the Spanish National Team's list, but on the morning of this Monday, the absences of Iñigo Martínez and Marc Casadó were announced. The center-back suffered an internal meniscus injury in his right knee that will keep him sidelined for two to three weeks, while the case of the midfielder is even more serious.

The La Masia youth player suffered a tear of the lateral collateral ligament in his knee, which has forced him to say goodbye to the remainder of the season, as his estimated recovery time would be at least two months. For this reason, Luis de la Fuente has called up Dean Huijsen for the first time, who was summoned by Santi Denia's U-21 team,  and Aleix García, a player from Bayer Leverkusen, to replace them.
