The banking entity American JP Morgan confirmed to EFE that will commission to fund the new Superliga European of football, that will explain in principle with 12 clubs founders, three of them Spanish. "I can confirm that we fund the operation, but do not have more comments in this regard by the moment", corroborated to EFE a spokesman of JP Morgan via email.

They will be six English clubs: Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur; three Italians: Juventus, Inter of Milan, and AC Milan; and three Spaniards: FC Barcelona, Real Madrid and Athletic of Madrid. All these signed like partners founders, as it confirmed the Superliga through an official communiqué.

To the mentioned clubs, expects that they join them three more before the inauguration of this new competition, which foresees that it give start in August. In total will have the participation of 20 clubs: the 15 founders and 5 that will classify annually in function of his attainments. For this, the fundamental factor is the economic field, the big appeal of the Superliga, and for this achieved a big signing that will promote the birth of the competition.

Undoubtedly, the big banking entities play a fundamental paper in the financial support of the world of the sport. In the case of JP Morgan funge like sponsor in different disciplines, from teams of the MLB, NBA, MLS, until the US Open of tennis. Besides it is partícipe in other activities like the motoring, rugby or careers of horses.

The British newspaper The Times published the past month of January a document of 18 pages in which desvelaba the project of the possible Superliga European formed by 15 teams founders, between them three Spanish clubs (Real Madrid, Barcelona and Athletic of Madrid), to which would have offered them until 350 million euros to each one to join to the competition.

Likewise, it had advanced that the bank of investment JP Morgan Chase was included in the conversations to fund this project, in which each club would have a "subvention infraestructural" of 3,500 million euros to invest, in "stadiums, installations of training or to replace the stray income" by the COVID-19. Said initial bottom, as it indicated in January the mentioned British newspaper, "bases in the income projected that would receive by rights of transmission and sponsorship", that described as 'enormous' in comparison to other clubs of Europe.

Idea renewed

The project of the Superliga already had sounded in September of 1998, after a meeting between representatives of JP Morgan, Juan Onieva, like economic vice-president of the Real Madrid, and Andrea Locatelli, in representation of Average Partners, business group that has contrived the project of the Superliga European.
