Lewandowski's desire to leave Bayern Munich continues to generate controversy. Now, Lothar Matthäus has stepped in and defended the striker, taking the opportunity to send a 'dart' to the Bavarians
The 'serial' of Robert Lewandowski and the Bayern of Munich seems not having end. The Polish forward already made public his wish to abandon the rows of the group directed by Julian Naggelsmann in a press conference with his selection, in which it sustained that "my era in the Bayern has finish. I do not see any possibility to follow my career in this club". These words did not fall well in the breast of the institution muniquense, those who consider unlucky the statements of the player.
In spite of that the relation between the player and the club seems to be 'fracturada', the Bavarian entity always was clear and insistent to the hour to expose his intensiones. Diverse members of the directive have pronounced in this regard in front of the means and the message is conclusive: "Lewandowski has agreement until 2023 and will fulfil it". Now that the '9' already has given to know his win to change of 'airs' during the summer (with the FC Barcelona waiting), will remain for seeing as they act from Germany.
In the meantime, a legend of the last champions of the Bundesliga has taken a step forward and has defended to Robert. Lothar Matthäus, historical mediocampista of the Bayern and the German selection, has left some statements to the newspaper 'BILD' in which it ensured to understand the decision taken by the attacker. "I understand to Lewandowski. It notices that something is changing in the club, that something is desmoronando and that some things no longer are as they were accustomed", expressed.
Of the same way, regretted the present that lives in the club, where several footballers have taken the decision to leave the Allianz Sand. In the past already sucedió with Kroos and Praises, for example, and this summer will repeat with the cases of the same Lewandowski and Niklas Süle, with Serge Gnabry also in the 'ramp' of exit. "It is a pity. Can see that increasingly players want to go of the Bayern. In the past was not like this. Certainly it does not launch a good light on the club. Some players do not feel comfortable in him", manifested Lothar, enviandole a 'dart' to the entity.
It is not the first time that defends it
The statements of Matthäus do not fall of surprise in the Bavarian institution, since it does some weeks the ex player loaded against of the club by his form to handle the situation of the '9'. "What happened him to Lewandowski never had seen . Being one of the best players of the history of the club, the Bayern had to speak with Lewandowski does a lot of months, giving him a clear and unambiguous signal that they wanted to remain with him. They wanted to negotiate with Haaland to the end and only after he had refused the proposal, tried to restart the negotiations with Lewandowski, but already was late", analysed in 'Sky Deutschland', leaving clear his discontent with his ex team.
