The resolution of UEFA on the implications of the FC Barcelona in the 'case Negreira' is still in wait after four months to have opened a procedure against the group culé. As it has confirmed 'Sportive World', the Swiss Jean Samuel Leuba and Mirjan Koller have carried the process of form minuiciosa and, as last measure, asked to the Barça answer a questionnaire of 70 questions on his relation with the ex vice-president of the Referee's Technical Committee Spanish.
For the moment, the Barcelona directive follows convinced in that neither the UEFA neither the Spanish justice will find proofs that show an alter of parties or direct interference in referee's decisions derived of the relation of the club with José María Enríquez Negreira, although the judicial subject can extend much more in the local plane. The Barça has ensured his presence in the Bass drum 1 of the draw of the phase of groups of the Champions 2023/24, by which there is not risk to remain out of the tournament.
The sanction that could suffer the Barça would apply for the 2024/25
In this sense, if the UEFA decided to punish to the Barça, the sanction would be effective for the 2024/25, season in which it will go in in force the new format of the League of Champions. As it establishes the article 4.2 of the Regulation of the Champions, the sanction would apply only by a year in case to find proofs that incriminate to a club with the alter of parties in his league.
"If, on the base of all the circumstances in fact and of the information that it has, lto UEFA concludes to his whole satisfaction that a club has been involved direct and/or indirectly, from the entrance in force of the section 3 of the article 50 of the Statutes of the UEFA in any activity headed to organise or influence in the result of a party to national or international level, the UEFA will declare to said club no eligible to participate in the competition", details the article.
With the Osasuna all was faster
Unlike the procedure to the Barça, where the Spanish justice follows investigating the 'case Negreira', with the Osasuna the resolution of UEFA was almost immediate. The group 'rojillo' was exlcluido of the Conference League by the Commission of Control, Ethical and Discipline of the UEFA when contravening the article 4.1g: "have not been direct and/or indirectly involved, from the entrance in force of the Article 50 (3) of the Statutes of the UEFA, that is to say, on 27 April 2007, in any destined activity to organise or influence in the result of a party". The Osasuna will appeal the sanction, but the panorama luce complicated. The own would do the Barça if it was punished by UEFA.
