The confederations of South and Central America, CONMEBOL and CONCACAF, confirmed the holding of the Inter-American Cup in 2024. The event will bring together the champions of four tournaments, including Leo Messi's Inter Miami and Marcelo's Fluminense
Leo Messi and Marcelo can go back to see the faces in a final to level of clubs, something that no sucede since both contested the Supercopa of Spain in 2017 with the FC Barcelona and the Real Madrid, respectively. After the consecration of the Fluminense in the Glass Libertadores, Conmebol and Concacaf confirmed to the four teams that will contest the Inter-American Glass 2024.
This tournament will gather, in addition to the valid champion of the Libertadores, to the last champions of the Glass Sudamericana (LDU of Remove), the League of Champions of the Concacaf (Club León of Mexico) and of the Leagues Cup (InterMiami ). The tournament still does not have date neither headquarters confirmed, but probably will play in the United States in the first quarter of 2024.
Messi and Marcelo also can cross in 'semis'
In this sense, Messi and Marcelo can see the faces in the decisive party if Inter Miami and Fluminense arrive to the final, although both clubs also can cross in the semifinals of the 'final four'. The Inter-American Glass left to contest in 1998 and had several formats with clashes between the champions of the Libertadores and the Glass of Champions of Concacaf.
In 2024 it will be the first occasion in which there will be more than two teams, being an opportunity of gold so much for Inter Miami as for Fluminense to follow expanding an international list of winners that recently premièred this year with the obtaining of the Leagues Cup and the Libertadores, respectively. Marcelo has agreement with the 'Flu' until December of 2024, whereas Leo signed with the pink group until finals of 2025, by which both will be available for the tournament, except some injury.
