The parliamentary plenary of the European Union has approved the report on the politics of the sport, which includes points against the philosophy of the Superliga

The Plenary of the European Parliament has approved the report of the politics of the sport in the European Union. Document that contemplates a conclusive message that goes against the philosophy with which was created the Superliga, and that aims to that looms the ecosystem and stability of the sport.

Tomasz Frankowski, Polish euro-deputy and vice-president of the group of sports, went the attendant to detail during the session plenaria of the European Parliament the master lines of the report. His aim is to evaluate and expose the possible roads of performance of the European Union in his politics of sports. Said dossier specifies that from Europe will treat to promote a series of principles that would bump with the philosophy of the Superliga, whose first staged was of an enclosed competition and to the margin of the UEFA.

Like this it indicates the point 13 of the report voted in the Parliament: "it pleads for a European model of the sport that recognise the need of a solid commitment with the integration of the principles of solidarity, sustainability, inclusion, open competition, sportive merit and equity, and, in consequence, opone firmly to the competitions escindidas that undermine these principles and put in danger the stability of the sportive ecosystem in general; it stands out that all the parts interested in the sport and the national authorities have to boost these principles".

Likewise, in the exhibition of the reasons of this report yes did a direct quotation to the Superliga and label like threat to the European model that wants from the European Union: "In the last decade have not attained substantial advances in the formulation of a sportive model. In particular, the debate has seen hindered by semantic considerations with regard to his denomination, in place to centre in the essence of the notable characteristics of the model, what mean and the best way to promote them. While this confusion and inaction persist, the strengths that loom the European dimension of the sport and treat to undermine his characteristics take advantage of the situation. The Superliga European was a clear example of this type of performance, that by the moment, and fortunately, has fracasado because of the firm European opposition to his realisation".

"Besides, all the institutions and parts interested have to be had to recognise and protect what does that the European sport result so entertained, popular and successful, keeping at the same time his social functions. These characteristics comprise the sportive merit, the open competition, the competitive balance and the solidarity".

Opposition

In addition to Tomasz Frankowski, also participated in the debate on the politics in the sport of the European Union to the commissioner Margaritis Schinas and other euro-deputies. All showed his opposition to the model of the Superliga, doing a call to European institutions and national governments to join against of this type of projects. Frankowski, in benefit of the opportunity, did emphasis in others of the debates in the football these last years: the excess number of parties that exists in the calendar and the negative consequences that has on the health of the players. Reviewing that the international tournaments have to respect to the national competitions to the hour to fix a saturated calendar of commitments.
