In addition to announcing his use in the party between the Real Madrid and the Eintracht of Frankfurt, the body rector of the European football has indicated that it also will be used in the next edition of the Champions: "The UEFA enorgullece to announce that the technology of offside semi-automated (SAOT) will première in the competitions of European clubs in the party of the Supercopa of the UEFA in Helsinki. Besides, the SAOT also will use from the phase of groups of the next season of the UEFA Champions League".

After carrying out some 188 evaluations in the last two years, taking in account a big quantity of parties of the last masculine and feminine editions of the League of Champions, as well as of the past Eurocopa feminine, the offside semi-automatic finally in the European competitions, although possibly it have to perfect over time.

The boss of the Referees of the UEFA, Roberto Rosetti, sustains that this improvement will help to the referee to give justice with a greater efficiency: "The UEFA looks for constantly new technological solutions to improve the game and support the work of the referees.
