The UEFA has reiterated east his rejection to the Superliga after the meeting been supported by Bern Reichart, CEO and representative of To22 Sports, the company promoter of the project promoted by Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Juventus to create a new competition of clubs to continental level. With a communiqué in his distinct platforms the European organism has reaffirmed his position in this regard.
After the celebrated meeting in the headquarters of the UEFA in presence among others of Aleksander Ceferin, Javier Thebes (president of LaLiga) or Nasser To the-Khelaïfi, (president of the ECA and of the PSG), the maximum organism of the continental football has issued an official communiqué reinforcing his posture and loading against the Superliga.
"The responsible maxima of the UEFA, headed by the President Aleksander Čeferin, and the high representatives of the national leagues, the clubs, the players and the fans, underlined together that the opposition to the self-proclaimed 'Superliga' keeps on being today overwhelming, as it has been it from April of 2021", explains the start of the note.
"In accordance with the unit of the European football, the UEFA and the parts interested of the football participants went back to refuse unanimously the logic that sustenta projects like the ESL during the debate of today", continues the communiqué. "The participants took note, with surprise, of the affirmations of the general director of To22 Sports in the sense that this company does not represent to any club in quality any, included the three clubs that follow supporting openly the project.
"The foundations of the European football, that base in the opening, the solidarity and the meritocracia and serve to aims wider of the sportive principles and the interest of the society, in place to base in the privileges and the own rights", adds the UEFA, that values the support of the big political institutions against the Superliga.
"This approach has received the unanimous support of the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and a wide backrest of the national governments, the public institutions and the parts interested of all the continent", finalises the communiqué of the UEFA, that equally will have to expect a failure of the European justice with regard to the project.
