Calendar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona hosts Rayo Vallecano this Monday for matchday 24 of LaLiga EA Sports 2024/25, a match in which Lamine Yamal will seek to score his sixth goal in the tournament, but to do so he must break a streak of twelve consecutive matches without scoring. The player from Mataró last scored in LaLiga on matchday 11 against Real Madrid (0-4), a match played on October 26, 2024, in which Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha (double) also scored.

This 2025, the young player has started the year very well, with 5 goals and 4 assists in the 10 matches played with Barça across LaLiga (4), Copa (2), Supercopa (2), and Champions (2). In the Copa, the '19' scored against Betis (5-1) and Valencia (0-5), while in the Supercopa he did the same against Athletic (0-2) and Real Madrid (2-5). In the Champions League, he scored once against Atalanta (2-2), but in LaLiga he did not find the net against Getafe (1-1), Valencia (7-1), Alavés (1-0), and Sevilla (1-4), although he provided assists in matchdays 21 and 22. Thus, the Barça forward has gone 114 days without shaking the nets in LaLiga.

Lamine Yamal, ready for a new challenge against Rayo

In the last training session before the match in Montjuïc, Hansi Flick once again counted on Ronald Araujo, who has overcome his ankle problems and is set to start against the Madrid team. However, the main highlight of Sunday’s session was undoubtedly Lamine Yamal. The player from Mataró trained normally with the rest of the group, now free of the bandage he had on his right hand since Friday.

Although the club did not issue any medical report to specify the reason for this incident, the young player trained on Friday and Saturday with two fingers immobilized: the middle and ring fingers of his right hand, perhaps to heal some bruise or cut suffered accidentally. Well, on Sunday, the player from Mataró trained with the group without the cumbersome bandage that had raised some concerns ahead of the match against Rayo.

In the first round, Barça came back against Rayo in Vallecas thanks to goals from Pedri González and Dani Olmo, one of the goals assisted by the '19' from Barça (the winning goal in the 82nd minute, scored by Dani). Lamine continues to lead LaLiga in assists with 10 goal passes, three more than Iñaki Williams (7). Raphinha, Álex Berenguer, Sergi Cardona, and Jude Bellingham follow behind, with 6.
