FC Barcelona continued the celebrations for its 125th anniversary this Saturday at Montjuïc against Las Palmas. After the exciting night experienced at the gala last Friday at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Blaugrana club brought the festivities to a close in the duel against the Canarian team.
A match in which the culés decided to give a 'wink' to their history by playing the match in white shorts, thus emulating the first kit worn by Joan Gamper and the first players of the Catalan team after its foundation. This was the second time that these shorts were used this season, as the Barça women's team also wore them in the defeat against Manchester City in the Champions League.
Barça's gestures for its 125th anniversary
The gestures of the Blaugrana team did not stop there. On the shirt, the footballers directed by Hansi Flick wore the special emblem of the 125th anniversary on the chest, just above the heart. In addition, in the pre-match events, 'Cat', the club's new mascot, made his first official appearance in front of the Barça fans.
Finally, 'L'escut al pit', the anthem chosen by the club's members to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the founding of the largest club in Europe, was played over the public address system at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys for the first time.
