The young talents of Barça return home for the crucial clash against Osasuna
The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) did not contradict LaLiga regarding the decision to reschedule the Barça-Osasuna match, postponed from matchday 27, but did give a breather to the azulgrana team to prepare for the duel in Montjuïc next Thursday. This Saturday, Fermín López, Pablo Torre, and Gerard Martín returned to the Ciutat Esportiva, after the Federation ordered their separation from the Spain U-21 team to join their club.
On Friday, Fermín and Gerard were starters in the friendly against the Czech Republic (2-2), the penultimate before the Euro of their category. The player from Huelva and the full-back played 75 minutes with Santi Denia's team, while Torre only played the final quarter of an hour. The three Barça players were called up for the visit to Germany on Tuesday, but the RFEF ultimately ordered their release so that Hansi Flick could count on them for the match against Osasuna.
Raúl Moro and David Torres were called up by Santi Denia to cover the absences of the azulgrana players in what will be the last friendly before the Euro to be held in Slovakia, from June 11 to July 5. Spain was placed in Group A, where they will face the host nation, along with Romania and Italy (the matches will follow that order, starting with the opening match against Slovakia).
Hansi Flick is recovering players for the match against Osasuna
In addition to the three players released by the U-21 team, Barça recovered on Saturday Pau Cubarsí, who returned to Catalonia with an injury to his right ankle. Initially, it seems to be a minor issue, but we must wait for the additional tests next Monday to determine the extent and duration of the absence that the center-back will require. If a minor injury is confirmed, the player from Estanyol could be included in the squad for the match against the 'rojillos'.
The same goes for Ronald Araujo. The player from Rivera could be released by Uruguay before the match on Tuesday against Bolivia, which belongs to matchday 14 of the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers. The defender played 90 minutes on Friday in the narrow defeat of the 'celeste' against Argentina (0-1), and coach Marcelo Bielsa could allow his early return to Barcelona, knowing his recent physical issues. Raphinha, on the other hand, will return to Catalonia on Wednesday after a demanding match against Argentina.
The bulk of the internationals called up by their national teams will return on Monday to the Ciutat Esportiva, including Pedri and Dani Olmo, called up for the quarter-finals of the Nations League against a Netherlands team that will also feature Frenkie de Jong. Ferran Torres, absent due to a muscle discomfort in the first leg played on Thursday in Rotterdam, is another who could see minutes this Sunday in Mestalla.
