The draw against Betis was Barça's first at home in LaLiga 2024-25

Calendar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona does not usually accumulate many draws since moving to Montjuïc last season. This Saturday's match was only the fourth home game that the culés have drawn at the Lluís Companys since August 2023, when they began their journey to the Olympic Stadium due to the renovation of Spotify Camp Nou. Not surprisingly, in LaLiga, the azulgrana team had gone almost a year and two months without drawing against an opponent at home.

Against Betis (1-1), Hansi Flick's team recorded their first draw of the tournament in Montjuïc, something that hadn't happened since February 11, 2024. It was on matchday 24, against Granada (3-3), when the team then coached by Xavi Hernández let two points slip away in a crazy match. Barça took the lead with a goal from Lamine Yamal, but the nazaríes equalized before halftime and managed to take the lead twice in the second half, but Robert Lewandowski and Yamal again prevented the azulgrana downfall.

On Saturday there were fewer goals, but the Catalans again let two points slip away after taking the lead. Gavi scored the 1-0 in the 7', but Natan equalized the score ten minutes later. In the Champions League, Barça had drawn against Atalanta in the last match of the league phase (2-2), with the ticket to the round of 16 secured. In the Copa del Rey, Atlético also salvaged a draw at the last minute in the first leg of the 'semis' (4-4). In the return leg, the culés advanced thanks to a narrow victory at the Metropolitano (0-1).

Barça aims to improve their home record in LaLiga 2024-25

Last season, Barça recorded 15 wins, 1 draw, and 3 losses in their 19 matches at Montjuïc. The record was 43 goals for and 21 against (+22), with losses to Real Madrid (1-2), Girona (2-4), and Villarreal (3-5), in addition to the aforementioned draw against Granada. In the previous campaign, the last at Camp Nou (22-23), Barça only lost one home match (1-2 against Real Sociedad, already with the title secured), accumulating 15 wins and 3 draws.

In 2024-25, with Hansi Flick on the bench, the azulgrana team's record at the Lluís Companys is 11 wins, 1 draw, and 3 losses. Las Palmas (1-2), along with Leganés (0-1) and Atlético (1-2) managed to defeat Barça in the first half of the season. Since then, only Betis has managed to take points from the culé stronghold, where the team has scored 41 goals and conceded 11. With four home matches remaining, the Catalans still have the opportunity to improve their performance at Montjuïc compared to the previous season.
