Hansi Flick will make several rotations in his XI for the Barça-Mallorca match. The match, prior to the Copa del Rey final, looks ideal to give some starters a rest
Hansi Flick's FC Barcelona faces Mallorca this Tuesday for matchday 33 of LaLiga. The Azulgrana team will not be able to count on Robert Lewandowski and Alejandro Balde, who join Marc Casadó, Ter Stegen, and Marc Bernal in the Azulgrana infirmary.
Just four days before the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid (Saturday the 26th at 10:00 PM), the match against the Balearic team seems ideal for Flick to give several of his starters a rest.
Barça maintains a solid advantage over Madrid in La Liga (7 points, for now) and continues to depend on itself to be champion. In addition, they will face a Mallorca also hit by absences, with up to 6 absences due to injuries and suspensions.
Which Barça starters could rest against Mallorca?
The three undisputed players who could stay on the bench on Tuesday are Pau Cubarsí, Iñigo Martínez, and Frenkie de Jong. The Dutchman and the Basque player had a complicated afternoon on Saturday against Celta, showing some exhaustion. The '2' was a substitute against Leganés and Girona, playing only 10 minutes in each match.
Others who accumulate a significant amount of minutes are Jules Koundé and Pedri. The Canary Islander (3,919 minutes in 50 matches) rested last week in Dortmund, but his absence weighed too heavily on the Culé performance.
Koundé, on the other hand, has played practically everything this year (he leads the squad in minutes played, with 4,261'), but just as with the '8', Flick does not have a reliable replacement for his position.
New opportunity for Ferran Torres and Dani Olmo
In principle, Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres should start on Tuesday. The attacking midfielder was key against Celta, with a goal and a penalty provoked that were fundamental for Barça's comeback in the last half hour of the match.
The 'Shark' also did his thing in the first half, scoring the partial 1-0. Flick put the Valencian in place of Lamine Yamal and the '7' responded with his 17th goal of the season.
Without Robert Lewandowski available, Ferran will be the team's center forward, a role he has played well in La Liga and Copa this 2025. Torres, for now, is the top scorer of the Copa del Rey, with 5 goals in 4 matches.
In addition, the player from Foios already scored against Mallorca in the first leg, the first of the 5 Culé goals in the 'manita' at Son Moix (1-5).
Araujo, Eric, and Gavi aim for the XI against Mallorca

Similarly, Ronald Araujo, Eric García, and Gavi will have a new opportunity against Mallorca. The Andalusian and the 'charrúa' did not have a good night in Dortmund, so they were substitutes against Celta.
Eric, for his part, started against Leganés (0-1) and had played the last 20' against Dortmund. On Saturday, he came on at the end for Pau Cubarsí, while Gavi was chosen to replace Lewandowski after his injury in the 78th minute.
In the case of Araujo, he played three consecutive matches as a starter in the absence of Iñigo Martínez against Girona, Betis, and Leganés. However, after the return of the Basque player, he has returned to being a substitute.
