Carlo Ancelotti once again criticized LaLiga for the scheduling of the calendar, including a response to Hansi Flick
Carlo Ancelotti spoke again about the Spanish calendar in the press conference before the Real Madrid-Leganés match, this Saturday at 21:00 at the Santiago Bernabéu. The Madrid coach cited Hansi Flick's stance regarding the FC Barcelona-Osasuna (3-0) match on Thursday, where both teams were forced to play less than 48 hours after a FIFA date.
"I share Flick's complaints, it is a bit strange to play on this day after the break. I also share that Real Madrid is not Barcelona", the Italian began. Previously, the Barcelona coach, referring to the date of the match against Osasuna, commented: "We are Barça, not Real Madrid, and I am proud of that", clearly alluding to the constant 'whining' of the 'White House' against LaLiga and the RFEF.
Returning to the issue of the calendar and the little rest between matches, 'Carletto' assured that he will continue to raise his voice when matches are scheduled "without justified reason". "Sometimes it cannot be (changed the time of a match), but comparing with Villarreal, the schedule could have been changed. Villarreal agreed and the television networks did too, but LaLiga did not. If a match can be changed and they do not change it, we do not play. If it cannot be changed for another reason, we show up", he added.
Ancelotti trusts Madrid's chances to fight for LaLiga
Similarly, the Italian coach referred to the 'merengue' options to fight until the end for the league title. Barcelona regained its three-point lead over Madrid after the thrashing against Osasuna and also has a significant advantage in the direct confrontation and goal difference.
"No, LaLiga is not decided. Barcelona has the advantage, but we have the Clásico (in matchday 35 in Catalonia) and many matches left. We have to do our best, starting tomorrow. Hopefully, we have 17 matches left, because that means we will fight in all competitions until the end", Ancelotti pointed out.
