FC Barcelona and Real Madrid will face each other in matchday 35 of La Liga, but first they must navigate a tough schedule, with 7 matches in between that could become 9

Calendar of FC Barcelona

The standings of LaLiga EA Sports 2024-25 have closed matchday 30 with significant changes at the top. FC Barcelona, after the draw against Betis (1-1), has increased its lead over Real Madrid to 4 points, following the 'merengue' defeat against Valencia (1-2). Atlético de Madrid, for its part, took the opportunity to close the gap to 7 points from Barça and 3 from Real, after a dramatic victory against Sevilla (1-2).

Now, the three teams have 8 matchdays (24 points) left to play, with the key factor being the Clásico on matchday 35 in Montjuïc. Barça and Madrid will meet again on the second weekend of May, two weeks after the Copa del Rey final and after hypothetical Champions semifinals, where culés and 'merengues' will go on different sides of the bracket.

The matches coming up for Barça before the La Liga Clásico

For Barça, the calendar has this week the first Champions clash against Borussia Dortmund. The culés will be at home on Wednesday the 9th in Montjuïc, three days before visiting Leganés (Saturday the 12th) for matchday 31 of La Liga. The following week, they will again face Dortmund, this time in Germany and, once again, with only 72 hours of rest (Tuesday the 15th).

The following weekend, they will host Celta for matchday 32 of La Liga, which on Tuesday the 22nd has another home match against Mallorca, four days before the Copa final against Real Madrid (Saturday the 26th in La Cartuja). If they overcome Dortmund, the following week will be the first leg of the 'semis' of Champions, a knockout round that will have another league match against Valladolid in between.

After that, they will play again on Sunday the 13th against Alavés in Vitoria, for matchday 31 of La Liga, three days before the rematch against Arsenal (Wednesday the 16th). For La Liga, the next match for the whites will be on Sunday the 20th, at home against Athletic.
