Dani Olmo's call-up to the Spanish National Team portrays Javier Tebas. Will LaLiga continue to insist on canceling his registration with FC Barcelona?
One of the first to raise his voice against the precautionary measure of the Higher Sports Council (CSD) to request Dani Olmo's registration with FC Barcelona was Javier Tebas. However, the president of LaLiga has been completely portrayed, caught offside, this Friday with the call-up of the azulgrana midfielder by the Spanish National Team for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Nations League.
Tebas went to ordinary justice to reverse the CSD's decision, claiming that the measure favorable to the azulgrana team "demonstrates a profound ignorance of how prior visas and quasi-definitive licenses are managed". Well, beyond the back-and-forth on social media fueled by the league president, it has been the Real Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) itself that has settled the debate on the legality of granting the license to Olmo and Pau Víctor again.
Chapter 1 of this tragicomedy

Many things are surprising about the recent precautionary measure:
1. Speed of the process: An unusual quickness that did not allow for a hearing for either LaLiga or the RFEF.
2. Forgetting previous resolutions: Ignoring prior decisions from both the CSD and the…
An RFEF of which, coincidentally, Tebas has been vice president since December 2024. "Dani Olmo should not finish LaLiga with Barça, we have made a very clear statement", commented the league president three weeks ago in an interview with 'Europa Press' referring to the situation of the player from Terrassa. Will he say the same next week if Luis de la Fuente decides to align him against the Netherlands next week?
Will Tebas Go Against the National Team Over the 'Olmo Case'?
Spain must play the quarter-finals of the Nations League next week, on Thursday the 20th in Rotterdam and on Sunday the 23rd in Valencia. If a team, whether club or national selection, has a player not eligible to play, they will automatically lose the match, resulting in their elimination from the tournament, this in the case of knockout competitions.
Well, if the CSD or ordinary justice determines that Dani Olmo was not legally registered, any club in LaLiga or the UEFA Champions League could accuse Barça of improper alignment. This, of course, would apply to the case of the National Team in its defense of the Nations League title. Will there be a statement from Javier Tebas on 'X' asking De la Fuente to modify his call-up?
