The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) exonerated José Luis Munuera Montero for his connection to the company Talentus Sports Speakers SL., reported by a sector of Madridismo as a possible "conflict of interest" since it is a talent scouting company in the world of football. The 'cavern' even claimed that there was a mural of Leo Messi at the headquarters of the company linked to the Andalusian referee. Well, the Federation's ruling did not take long to arrive, with good news for the Spanish referee.

Through a statement, the RFEF informed that its "Compliance Department has concluded that there is no real or potential conflict in the business activities of the referee with his performance as a First Division referee", which is why it recommends to the Technical Committee of Referees "the lifting of any precautionary measures that may have been imposed", as well as the submission of the report to UEFA authorities.

According to the RFEF's investigation, Munuera Montero only received earnings from this company for a talk that the referee gave to a plastics company. Talentus Sports Speakers SL., moreover, has not worked until now with any club associated with UEFA or FIFA, so his connection to the world of sports is completely null, contrary to the rumors spread this week.

Munuera Montero escapes the 'freezer' or a worse sanction

Thus, the Andalusian referee could be eligible again for matchday 25 of LaLiga or for the semifinals of the Copa del Rey, where Real Madrid visits Real Sociedad next Wednesday at Anoeta. Munuera Montero, in fact, was the referee of the controversial round of 16 clash between 'La Casa Blanca' and Celta de Vigo (5-2), where the whites benefited from at least three controversial decisions that completely changed the course of the tie.

This, of course, was before the letter that Madrid sent to the RFEF to express their "indignation" over the errors in the league match against Espanyol. The other 'semi' of the Cup will begin next Tuesday in Montjuïc, with FC Barcelona hosting Atlético de Madrid (21:30 CEST). The last time the 41-year-old referee officiated a match for Barça was on February 2, against Alavés in the league (culé victory by 1-0).
