FC Barcelona achieved its fifth win in LaLiga against Sevilla (5-1). With the 'little hand' given to the people of Seville, Hansi Flick's men reached 33 goals scored in the tournament
FC Barcelona's victory against Sevilla (5-1) confirmed the devastating Barça attack at the beginning of 2024/25. In 10 LaLiga games played, Hansi Flick's team has scored 33 goals, with an average of 3 goals scored per game.
Furthermore, the 'little hand' against Seville was the fifth culé win of the tournament and the third time that the team has scored five or more goals. Previously, Valladolid (7-0) and Villarreal (5-1) had suffered the forcefulness of a team that did not stop attacking during the 90 minutes.
Against Sevilla, the process was resolved, again, before the break. Goals from Robert Lewandowski and Pedri González before half-time ended the Andalusian aspirations of fighting for even a point in Montjuïc. However, unlike last day in Vitoria (0-3), the team was able to widen the difference in the complement.
Pablo Torre was in charge, with a double, of closing the 'little hand' against a Sevilla that managed to score a goal before the end. In this way, Barça surpasses its best scoring start in LaLiga since the 2012/13 season, when the team led by Tito Vilanova scored 32 goals in the first 10 days. That tournament closed with a title and a record of points (100) for the culés.
Barça, the best leader of the five major leagues in Europe
Barça's scoring production is unmatched this season in Europe's five major leagues. Only Paris Saint-Germain, with 25 goals scored in 8 Ligue 1 games, comes close to the Catalan statistics so far.
Bayern Munich, Barça's next rival for the Champions League, has 24 goals in 7 Bundesliga games, while Liverpool, leader of the Premier League, has barely scored 15 goals in 8 games (City has 19).
In Serie A, leader Naples has scored 15 goals in 8 games, a couple of goals less than Inter Milan (17). In other European leagues, PSV Eindhoven (29 goals in 9 games) and Galatasaray (27 goals in 9 games) have also failed to match Barça so far. And, in LaLiga, Real Madrid (21 goals), trails the Barça team in scoring production.
