Pablo Páez Gavira, Gavi, spoke with 'DAZN' in the run-up to the Classic about how he has experienced his week back in action. For the midfielder, the most difficult thing has been to recover the competitive rhythm

Pablo Páez Gavira, Gavi, is ready to help FC Barcelona look for three golden points on Saturday against Real Madrid. The midfielder hopes to continue adding minutes at the Santiago Bernabéu, after reappearing on Sunday against Sevilla and entering the final stretch against Bayern Munich.

In a talk with 'DAZN', the one from Los Palacios and Villafranca made clear the importance of a duel where, although a draw helps Barça to maintain the lead, the Barça team has the ambition of winning to sign off on a perfect week.

"It's essential. In a Clásico you always have to win. The motivation is great for us and for the fans. We must win and we are prepared," commented the '6' before explaining how much learning he obtained during the almost eleven months he was away from action.

"This injury is one of the hardest and I have come out of this injury as a better person and a better teammate as well," argued the Andalusian. In that sense, Gavi valued the support of his family and the entire Barça squad, "that in the end I am with them every day."

Gavi will have patience to gain pace with Barça

Regarding his recovery process, the 20-year-old player also seemed calm, because beyond his character, the time away has taught him to be more patient. The midfielder believes that the key is to pick up the pace, game by game, without taking unnecessary risks.

"In the end, one very good thing I have on the field is that I don't think about things. What is costing me the most is the pace of the competition. After so many months away, it is what is most difficult to pick up. Little by little, I'm sure I will recover the form I had before the injury," Gavi said.

The '6' suffered a complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee on November 19, 2023. At first, it was feared that he would be absent for more than a year, but the recovery deadlines have been met satisfactorily and, beyond the competitive pace, the Andalusian has looked very good physically in his first minutes of the season.
