FC Barcelona secured victory against Real Sociedad with the scoring debut of Gerard Martín and Marc Casadó. Both scored within just four minutes.

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Gerard Martín and Marc Casadó returned to the FC Barcelona lineup against Real Sociedad in style. The full-back and the midfielder paved the way for the Blaugrana victory against the San Sebastián team with their first official goals for the first team. Real had started well organized, but the expulsion of Elustondo in the 17th minute led the visitors to drop back and Barça quickly capitalized on their numerical superiority with their usual high pressing.

In the 24th minute, a great run by Lamine Yamal on the right allowed the '19' to connect with Dani Olmo. The Terrassa native, who had caused Aritz's expulsion with a run in midfield, found Gerard alone on the left side of the area. Without wasting time, the '20' delivered a perfect ball, which the Catalan full-back struck first-time with his left foot to fire past Remiro and make it 1-0.

From there, the Catalan dominance was total. Four minutes later, Casadó scored the 2-0 in another play involving Olmo. The attacking midfielder intercepted a clearance from Remiro from a corner taken by Raphinha from the right, and although Dani's shot was off target, it found a deflection off Marc's left knee that ended up sending the ball into the back of the net. Remiro, completely blocked, didn't even have time to move, surprised by the trajectory of the ball.

Gerard Martín and Marc Casadó kissed the Blaugrana badge in their celebrations

Both Martín and Casadó celebrated their first official goals with euphoria, kissing the club's badge on their shirts. For the defender, the wait was 24 matches to shout a goal with the first team. The midfielder, on the other hand, shook the net for the first time in his 38th official appearance. Marc has provided 6 assists this season and Gerard, another two.

For Barça, the goals in the first half against Real allowed them to reach 69 goals in La Liga and 122 in all competitions in the 24/25 season. This brings the Catalan scoring average in La Liga to 2.65 goals per match, while the season average remains at 3.05 goals per game. Undoubtedly, Hansi Flick's team is on track to break all offensive records from now until the end of the season in May.
