Calendar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona finished matchday 3 of LaLiga EA Sports 2024-25 in first position in the table, being the only team with nine points won so far. The Catalans took advantage of Celta de Vigo's defeat against Villarreal to move ahead in the standings and remain undefeated in the tournament by beating Rayo Vallecano 1-2. Atlético de Madrid dropped points against Espanyol, while Real Madrid continue to struggle and fell again at Las Palmas, drawing again (1-1).

The Madrid team started losing very early on, in the 5th minute, and they didn't manage to equalise until the second half, almost in the 70th minute. Vinicius, who once again played a terrible game, equalised the match from the penalty spot. The Merengues, lacking ideas, football and even self-respect, didn't manage to score the second and they once again dropped two more points along the way. Ancelotti's men are now 4 points behind Barça and are currently fifth with only 5 points out of a possible 9.

'Cholo' Simeone's team was one of the surprises of the day by losing points at the Cívitas Metropolitano against Espanyol. The colchoneros were unable to impose themselves on their home turf and in front of their fans and were only able to 'scrape' a draw against the periquito team. For their part, Celta de Vigo fell to Villarreal in the match of the day (4-3) and left the culés as the sole leaders of the championship.

Barcelona remains undefeated

Hansi Flick's team continues to excite the culés fans. The blaugrana team faced a real 'trial by fire' in Vallecas against Rayo Vallecano, achieving a victory based on personality and hierarchy. The Catalans started the match behind on the scoreboard, but the stellar appearances of Pedri and Dani Olmo, in his official debut as a Barcelona player, gave the German's team the comeback and the three points.

In other results, Mallorca once again showed that Son Moix is a real force and they rescued a draw against Sevilla, while Athletic Club returned to winning ways by defeating Valencia at San Mamés (1-0). Valladolid and Leganés completed the day with a goalless draw, Real Sociedad fell to Alavés (1-2) and Girona thrashed Osasuna (4-0). The match between Betis and Getafe was postponed due to the return match that the Betis team had to play in the qualifying rounds for the Conference League.
