Jules Koundé made a huge mistake that led to Celta's first goal and the subsequent comeback by the Vigo team to prevent Barça from winning
FC Barcelona seemed to have everything under control with five minutes left in the game. Despite having Marc Casadó sent off just two minutes earlier, the Catalans were winning 0-2 and everything indicated that they would leave Balaídos with the three points in their pocket. Nothing could be further from the truth.
It was the 84th minute when a long ball from Celta reached Jules Koundé with all the advantage in the world. The right back, in a comfortable position, could choose between clearing or passing the ball to Iñaki Peña, but he opted to control the ball to venture into the opponent's half, and with a touch unbecoming of a player of his category, he left the ball dead at the height of the penalty spot in the Barça area.
A 'blunder' that condemned Barça
Alfon González took advantage of the Frenchman's blunder and easily scored the 1-2. At that moment, the match broke down and a Vigo team emboldened by having one more player on the field, 'turned' to the Catalan ground in search of the equaliser, which they would achieve two minutes later through Hugo Álvarez.
Koundé, who until his 'blunder' was having a more than positive match, showing himself to be quite solid in defence and adding an assist for Raphinha's first goal, was completely disconnected in the final stretch of the match and was one of the main people pointed out for the draw in Galicia.
After the match, Gavi 'charged' against his teammate by stating that "the first goal was nonsense, we have to clear it up there, but well, it's football and we have to learn from this." A 'blunder' that will haunt Jules and Barça in the coming days, since the culés have already accumulated two games in a row without knowing the victory in the League.
