Jules Koundé confirmed his excellent start to the season with FC Barcelona by scoring in the 7-0 win over Valladolid. The Frenchman sealed the victory for Barcelona just before half-time and continues to be in great form at right-back
FC Barcelona continued their perfect run in LaLiga EA Sports with a remarkable display against Valladolid (7-0), a match where Jules Koundé once again left excellent impressions as a right-back. The Parisian is looking increasingly secure on the wing and, although he allowed a couple of dangerous approaches in the first half, he completed another remarkable day, this time converting one of the goals for the Catalans on a perfect afternoon at Montjuïc.
In total, Koundé completed 46 of 50 passes (92%), with two recoveries and a clearance, as well as winning 3 of 4 individual duels (75%) and completing an immaculate day in terms of discipline, with no fouls committed or received. In his only shot on goal, the French international was able to score his first goal of the season, his fourth in 92 official matches with Barça.
Koundé sealed the match just before half-time
In the 45+2', the defender, with some luck, caught a loose ball near the penalty spot after a corner from the left served by Lamine Yamal. The '23', falling down, managed to finish with his right foot straight at the crossbar that, on two previous occasions, had denied Dani Olmo the goal. However, on this occasion the ball found the net, sealing the partial 3-0 with which the culés went to the break.
The goal, in addition to finishing off the match, did justice to what had been seen so far in Montjuïc, with Barça master and lord of the match during the first 45 minutes. In the second half, taking advantage of the defensive position of a totally outclassed Valladolid, Koundé settled into the opponent's half and was encouraged to participate more in attack, without much prominence due to a Barça more focused on the left in the last half hour of play. The Parisian played the full 90 minutes again, being one of the few players who did not get a rest at the start of LaLiga.
