Atlético and Real Madrid were the stars of the big game of the eighth round of LaLiga EA Sports. The Madrid derby ended with Simeone's men drawing at the last minute (1-1), allowing Hansi Flick's Barça to keep their distance from their two pursuers.
After Militao's goal for Real Madrid, the match had to be stopped due to a shower of objects thrown from the stands. Fortunately, the atmosphere calmed down and ten minutes later the match continued. And when it seemed that Ancelotti's men would take the three points, Ángel Correa scored the equaliser. However, the referee had signalled offside, but the VAR corrected the referee's decision and it ended up being added to the scoreboard.
After the draw, Real Madrid remains second with 18 points, three behind Barcelona, and Atlético third with 16, five behind the Catalans. Athletic, Mallorca, Osasuna and Villarreal are next in line with 14 points, although the yellow submarine still has to play its match against Getafe (Monday, 9:00 p.m.). If they win, they would add 17 points and place themselves third in the table, overtaking Atlético.
