LALIGA 2024-2025 - DATE 11
Madrid-Barça: A perfect Clásico to storm the Bernabéu and confirm the change of cycle
This Saturday the world will once again stop with a Clásico between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona that could be decisive in this first part of the season and that will be more demanding and competitive than ever
This Saturday, at 9:00 p.m., Madrid and Barça will meet again in a match that, although it is not a 'final' to fight for the championship, could be key for Barcelona to confirm its best sensations and deal an important blow to LaLiga and to Real Madrid itself.
The difference in points between the two teams is just three. FC Barcelona visit the Bernabeu as the undisputed league leaders with 27 points and aware that this Clásico is worth much more than the three points at stake.
A win would give them a boost in morale and confidence, extend their lead to six points and could lead to the Whites entering a pre-crisis scenario. Madrid is in second place with 24 points and losing, despite it being very early, would be a catastrophe in many ways.
The Barça is leader of LaLiga 2024-25
The Catalans are coming off two consecutive wins in La Liga and have suffered just one defeat in the ten games played so far. In addition, Hansi Flick's team has made a noticeable improvement in their play, being considered by many to be the team in the best form in Europe.
The difference compared to last season is abysmal. Since Flick's arrival, the Catalans have been on an upward trend and have a clear idea of how they play, whichever team they play. However, the Blaugranas know that, regardless of this 'boost', they are facing a team that is always dangerous.
The Madrid wins, but does not convince
On the other hand, the current situation is not the most favourable for Real Madrid, because they are obliged to get the victory if they do not want to see Barça escape with a six-point advantage in the standings and clearly position themselves above the whites in every sense.
Real Madrid is having a season full of lights and shadows, their game is far from what was expected and although they have been winning the games, they raise many doubts.
The 'effect' Champions League
Both teams are in great form after what happened in Europe this week and it could possibly have a big 'effect' on the duel, for better or worse. On the one hand, they are stronger for the win, but it must also be taken into account that the physical strain has been maximum.
The Real Madrid comes to trace and golear to the Borussia Dortmund (5-2) with Vinicius of hero, noting a hat-trick and sure that with win to go back to shine days before the gala of the Balloon of Gold.
The Barça, by his part, comes of golear to his "European black" beast, the Bayern of Munich. In a night memorable, the squad of Hansi Flick charged the revancha in front of the Germans lumbering with them a 4-1 and offering an authentic exhibition futbolística. The positive effect will be more than clear.
Barcelona is an offensive steamroller
Barça have scored 33 goals in 10 games, with an average of 3.3 goals per game. The 'merengues', for their part, have scored 21 goals, with a not inconsiderable average of 2.1 goals per game, but far from the production of the Blaugrana.
In that sense, the work done by Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski has managed to completely overshadow the brand new 'BMV' of the 'Casa Blanca'. Despite the arrival of Kylian Mbappé, Vinicius Jr. and, above all, Jude Bellingham, they have been far from the level shown last season. Let's see the comparison in the individual duels of both forwards.
Notable absences due to injury
Both teams have ten injuries, two of which are long-term in the case of Barça, who are set to be ruled out for the rest of 2024/25. In total, FC Barcelona arrive at the Clásico with six injured players. Real Madrid, for their part, will face the match with four injured players, two of which are long-term.
