Calendar of FC Barcelona

The seventeenth round of LaLiga sees Barça and Leganés face each other at Montjuic this Sunday at 9:00 p.m. It will be the ninth time they have met in the domestic competition, the tenth including the Copa del Rey matches. The Madrid team has only managed to beat the Catalans once, in 2017. It was on the sixth matchday of the 17/18 season, in Leo Messi's 700th match in a Barça shirt, when the pepinero team managed to turn around an early goal from Coutinho with goals from Óscar Rodríguez and El Zhar.

Newly promoted, the 'Lega', away from Butarque, will seek to beat FC Barcelona again. To achieve this feat, which would be their first away victory in the First Division since July 16, 2020, they have Munir El Haddadi and Adrià Altimira on their side. Both players wear the blue and white shirt, but were trained at La Masía.

Munir El Haddadi, winner of a treble as a Barça player

The Spanish-Moroccan striker was born in El Escorial (Madrid). He went through the youth ranks of Atlético de Madrid and Rayo Majadahonda, among others, until he joined FC Barcelona in 2011. He was the property of the Blaugrana team from that year until 2019, when, after spending two seasons on loan at Valencia and Alavés, he was transferred permanently to Sevilla for one million euros.

He made his debut with the first team in September 2014, under Luis Enrique, in the 3-0 victory against Elche. He did so as a starter and scored one goal. In the 4 seasons in which he was part of the senior squad of the Barça team, Munir played 56 games, in which he scored 12 goals and assisted his teammates on 11 occasions. He also won eleven titles wearing the Barça jersey: Champions League, Club World Cup, European Super Cup, Copa del Rey (x2), Spanish Super Cup (x3) and La Liga (x3). He was among the winners of the 2015 quintet.

After spending three seasons at Sevilla, he left for Getafe on a free transfer, where he stayed for a year and left for free again, this time to Las Palmas. He repeated the operation this season and is now part of the ranks of Leganés. Under the orders of Borja Jiménez he has played 368 minutes, spread over 10 games, and has managed to send a ball into the back of the net.

Adrià Altimira spent 12 years at La Masía

The right-back, born in Cardedeu, is the cousin of Sergi Altimira, a player for Real Betis, also a denomination of origin of La Masía, and nephew of Aureli Altimira, former coordinator of the Barça youth system. He is owned by Villarreal, but is on loan for a season at Leganés. He joined the lower categories of the Catalans in 2008, at the age of 7, and spent 12 years training as a Barça player.

In the Juvenil A he went as a free agent to NK Lokomotiva in Croatia, where he stayed for 3 months before leaving for free to CD Melilla. After only one season in the autonomous city, Andorra took notice of him. He spent two seasons in the Principality, until he arrived for free at Villarreal B. In the 23/24 season he played 18 games in the first team of the 'yellow submarine', taking advantage of the serious injury suffered by Juan Foyth. This summer he went on loan to Leganés in search of opportunities and has already played 9 games.
