LaLiga EA Sports has once again recognized a member of FC Barcelona in one of its distinguished monthly awards. Recently, it was announced that the coach of the Catalan team, Hansi Flick, was awarded as the best coach of the month of October. Now, another pillar of the Catalan squad has been awarded by the organization presided over by Javier Tebas.
LaLiga EA Sports used its social media to announce that Pedri González has been named the best under-23 player of the month of October. This award had already been received this season by a player from Barcelona, as Lamine Yamal did in August.
Pedri González surpassed four other young talents from LaLiga, including Vitor Roque currently at Real Betis, Luka Sučić from Real Sociedad, Eduardo Camavinga from Real Madrid, and Pablo Barrios from Atlético de Madrid. The Canarian deserved this trophy after participating in the three matches faced by the Catalan team this October, with victories against Deportivo Alavés (0-3), Sevilla (5-1), and Real Madrid (0-4).
Pedri González is getting closer to his most 'game-changing' version
Fortunately, Pedri González has overcome his physical setbacks and is very close to his best level as a player, performing as a complete midfielder, capable of playing as an attacking midfielder or central midfielder with great confidence, providing creativity and mobility in the Barcelona midfield. In October, he stood out especially in the match against the Seville team, where with a well-placed shot from outside the box, he scored his third goal of the 2024-25 season in the local tournament.
It is also worth mentioning that Pedri González accumulated a total of 260 minutes of play in the month, being one of the players who played the most possible time, playing 90 minutes against Deportivo Alavés, 83 against Sevilla, and 87 against Real Madrid. Furthermore, it is important to highlight that in these three matches, the midfielder averaged 58 passes per game with a precision of 90.86%, demonstrating his excellent form and his key role in FC Barcelona's scheme under the guidance of Hansi Flick.
