OFFICIAL: LaLiga stops for two weeks as a consequence of the coronavirus

This Wednesday took drastic decisions in Spain, but this Thursday has been definite for the suspension of LaLiga. In spite of the reticencias initial of Javier Thebes, the meeting of the Commission of Follow-up in the City of the Football has been key. The Association of Spanish Footballers (AFE) presionó, the Real Spanish Federation of Football (RFEF) was by the work and the patronal has observed his requests.

The almost total postponement of the football that the RFEF had set up was a bad augurio for the First and the Second Division, that during some hours kept like only categories in active. This caused a protest of the AFE and of several clubs, that considered that the parties to enclosed door supposed an insufficient and little effective performance like solution for the situation that is living .

Finally, the meeting of all the representatives of the Spanish football certified the cancellation of the two next Days of LaLiga and LaLiga Smartbank, whose resumption will concretise in function of how sucedan the events. The sportive managers of several institutions have demanded calm in the two coming weeks and have specified that they follow to rajatabla the instructions of the government.

As it indicated Javier Thebes, the protocols of prevention and performance already contemplated a stage like east, and from now look for solutions to preserve the integrity of the championship, that will treat to reorganise his calendar to fit what before the recovery of the meetings mentioned. It will be necessary to locate the few dates that remain available, since the Glasses of Rey and of the Queen also have remained affected.

From this Thursday, will be the events and the effectiveness of the measures taken those that will dictate when it returns the normality, attending, at all times, the governmental recommendations and of the Ministry of Health. The Commissions of Follow-up created by all the quoted organisms are expecting of news, in a panorama that goes changing hour after hour and day after day.

The official communiqué on the suspension of LaLiga

"In front of the circumstances known this morning, referred to the quarantine established in the Real Madrid and the possible positive in players of other clubs, LaLiga considers that they give already the circustancias so that it follow with the following phase of the protocol of performance against the COVID- 19. In consequence, in accordance with the measures established in the Royal decree 664/1997 of 12 May, agrees the suspension, at least, of the two next days.

Said decision will be reevaluada after the ending of the quarantines decreed in the clubs affected and of other possible situations that could give.

LaLiga, like organiser of the competition, has proceeded to communicate it to the RFEF, to the CSD and to the Clubs".
