Hansi Flick could be forced to leave Lamine Yamal on the bench for Celta-Barça next Saturday. The winger still has pain in his right ankle
Lamine Yamal could add his second consecutive league day out of the FC Barcelona XI next Saturday against Celta de Vigo (9:00 p.m.). The man from Mataró was left out of the squad against Real Sociedad due to an injury to his right ankle that also prevented him from traveling with Spain for the duels against Denmark and Switzerland.
Although the winger has had a smooth rehabilitation so far, he still suffers pain when he tries to run without a bandage in the area. After the visit to Balaídos, Barça will host Stade Brest on Tuesday the 26th in Montjuïc, so Hansi Flick could leave the '19' on the bench in Galicia to ensure his starting place in the Champions League match.
At the moment, Lamine has accumulated 1,310 minutes of action spread over 16 games, with only one substitution against Osasuna (he played half an hour). The Barça technical staff has tried to dose the minutes of the 'starters' to avoid overloads and will not take risks with the youth player if, during the week, he does not manage to train normally.
A break for Flick: Lewandowski would be 100% physically at Balaídos
On the contrary, the one who would be at his best for the visit to the Galician team is Robert Lewandowski. The 36-year-old striker finally did not travel with Poland for the duels against Portugal and Scotland due to back discomfort after the clash against Real Sociedad, but he will return to training normally this week to prepare for the trip to Balaídos.
Likewise, Hansi Flick hopes to recover Eric García and Héctor Fort for matchday 14 of LaLiga. The full-back was left out of the clash in San Sebastián due to a sacral ailment, while the centre-back has already been out for a month due to pubalgia. Both have worked without problems in the gym in recent days and would be discharged in time to play against Celta.
The other injured Barça player who hopes to leave the infirmary shortly is Ronald Araújo. The 'Charrúa' hopes to reappear before the end of November and is confident of returning at full strength to fight for a place in the Barça lineup.
