Ronald Araujo assessed Barça's draw against Betis (1-1), while also reflecting on the conceded goal
FC Barcelona ended their streak of nine consecutive victories in LaLiga with the draw against Betis (1-1). Hansi Flick's side took an early lead thanks to a goal from Gavi in the 7th minute, but the 'verdiblancos' managed to equalize 10 minutes later from a corner on the right. Natan anticipated Ronald Araujo, jumping before the 'charrúa' to leave Szczesny with no options with a relentless header.
After that, Barça dominated possession, creating the best chances in the rest of the first half and the second half. However, the saves from Adrián and the lack of precision from Barça's forwards prevented the culés from delivering another blow, probably definitive, to LaLiga after Real Madrid's defeat earlier against Valencia (1-1). After the match, Araujo explained his feelings about the draw, stating, regarding the play of the 1-1, that it was "an avoidable detail".

Ronald Araujo emphasizes the importance of continuing to accumulate points in the League
"A bitter taste because we wanted the three points. We take a point which is positive because we keep adding. We have to keep going because we have four points and we need to move forward", the 'charrúa' began saying in an interview for 'Movistar+'. Barça had only conceded one goal from a corner in LaLiga, but beyond the draw, the team gained a point that extends their lead over the 'merengues' to four.
In this sense, Ronald valued the possibility of continuing to accumulate points and maintaining the unbeaten streak in 2025. "We have a way of viewing this League that is game by game. We do not look at the rivals. We could have created more difference, but we will go game by game. When you can't win, it's also good not to lose", pointed out the azulgrana captain. The '4' partnered with Pau Cubarsí in defense, following the last-minute withdrawal of Iñigo Martínez due to a muscle problem.
In the 90 minutes, the player from Rivera completed 89 out of 92 passes (97%), made 7 defensive actions, and recovered 5 balls. In individual duels, he wasn't as sharp (winning 3 out of 9), but he created a goal opportunity, in addition to a couple of clearances. With his performance on Saturday, Araujo has accumulated 997 minutes of action in 15 matches (7 in the League) in which he has provided a couple of assists and scored another couple of goals.
