Spain has already concluded the summer transfer market and LaLiga made the largest investment in signings in the last five years thanks to the arrival of players such as Kylian Mbappé, Julián Álvarez and Dani Olmo
LaLiga continues to break records. This time, they have made the largest investment in the last five summer transfer windows. In total, 582 movements were made between all the clubs with 296 signings and 286 leaving. More than 542.6 million were received for the almost 555.9 million spent on transfers, this means that almost 111.7 million more was invested than last season.
LaLiga was the fifth competition that spent the most
Despite the large investment made for the 2024/25 season, the Spanish competition was fifth in the ranking of expenditure of the main European leagues behind the Premier League (€2.34 billion), Serie A (€1.00 billion), Ligue 1 (€722.81 million) and the Bundesliga (€600.48 million). If we talk about income, Spain is fourth at international level after England (€1.59 billion), Italy (€690.91 million) and France (€581.42 million).
The most expensive signings of the season
If we talk about the most valuable signings, Kylian Mbappé, Julián Álvarez, Endrick, Dani Olmo and Conor Gallagher make up the top 5, but, with the exception of the Frenchman, the other four players were the most expensive in this transfer window for LaLiga. The Argentine, who signed for Atlético de Madrid, heads the list with €75 million. He is followed by Olmo with €55 million, Endrick with €47.5 million, Gallagher with €42 million and Robin Le Normand with €34.5 million. Diego Simeone's new striker was also the most expensive on the market at international level.
Atlético and Villarreal were market winners
As expected, there were teams that stood out in this transfer window. Atlético de Madrid was the biggest spender with 185 million invested in signings, followed by Villarreal at more than 120 million behind and third place was occupied by FC Barcelona with 57.7 million dollars with the signings of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor.
In terms of income, Atlético also leads with 93.9 million collected. Villarreal was second with 74.5 million and Real Sociedad finished third with 69.85 million. Continuing with the theme of arrivals and departures, Girona takes the crown with 22 arrivals, one more than Alavés and two more than Leganés. In terms of departures, Villarreal and Girona added 21, one more than Sevilla.
