The eighth matchday of LaLiga 2024-25 leaves Hansi Flick's Barcelona as the sole leader of the standings with 21 points, four more than Real Madrid and six more than Atlético, who will play each other this Sunday

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Barcelona FC was beaten by Osasuna (4-2) at El Sadar, although it ends Matchday 8 of LaLiga EA Sports 2024-25 in first place in the standings. Despite the defeat, the 21 points accumulated during the first seven rounds of the championship by the Catalans keep them as sole leaders of the table, adding 25 goals for and 9 against.

For their part, Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid, second and third in the standings respectively, will face each other this coming Sunday at the Cívitas Metropolitano, in a key match for both clubs because they could get closer to Barça in the table.

Matchday 7 of LaLiga ends on September 29, when the four pending matches will be played: Celta-Girona, Athletic-Sevilla, Betis-Espanyol and the aforementioned Madrid derby.

Hansi Flick's team ended their seven-game winning streak by losing to Osasuna (4-2) at El Sadar. The Catalans were on the verge of equalling their best ever league start, but remain at the top of the Primera División table despite the defeat.
