The tenth matchday of LaLiga 2024-25 closes without any major changes at the top of the table, with Barcelona maintaining the lead alone
FC Barcelona were the stars of the rout on matchday ten of LaLiga EA Sports 2024/25. The Catalans welcomed Sevilla to the Estadi Olimpic Lluís Companys and beat them with a crushing 5-1, securing their sole lead (27) with a result that allows them to keep their distance from their two closest pursuers, Real Madrid (24) and Atlético de Madrid (20).
The Catalans took all three points thanks to goals from Robert Lewandowski (x2), Pablo Torre (x2) and Pedri. For its part, a Madrid without soul or football beat Celta de Vigo (1-2) relying on two 'sparks' from Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius, who 'rescued' them in Balaídos, while 'Cholo' Simeone's men took advantage of the home advantage to beat Leganés with a resounding 3-1.
Below the colchoneros are Villarreal, despite their 1-1 draw at home against Getafe, and Athletic Club, who opened the match on Saturday with a 4-1 thrashing of Espanyol. Completing the European positions is Jagoba Arrasate's Mallorca, who defeated Rayo Vallecano (1-0) in Son Moix.
Barça do not lose ground in LaLiga after 10 rounds
Betis moved up to seventh place with their victory against Osasuna (1-2), who dropped to eighth place, while Rayo Vallecano and Celta are in ninth and tenth place in the table with equal points (13). Real Sociedad moved up to eleventh place after their victory against Girona (0-1), who follow in twelfth place, and Sevilla is in fourteenth position after falling at Montjuïc.
Below them are Alavés, Espanyol, Getafe and Leganés, with Valladolid, Valencia and Las Palmas occupying the relegation places. Precisely, these last two will close the day this Monday, October 21, in the duel that faces them at Mestalla.
