This is the LaLiga standings after Barça's draw and Madrid's defeat

FC Barcelona maintains its sole lead in LaLiga EA Sports 2024-25 despite its surprising draw against Betis at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys (1-1). The azulgrana team faced a verdiblanco side that was a worthy opponent and managed to hold its ground in the most difficult field in the world, and despite an early goal from Gavi giving them a temporary lead, a header from Natan sealed a draw that allows the culés to increase their lead at the top of the standings. 

Barça (67) occupies the first place in the table with a four-point lead over Real Madrid, who are in second place with 63 points after the embarrassment against Valencia at the Santiago Bernabéu (1-2). Atlético de Madrid, for its part, could get back into the championship race if they achieve a positive result against Sevilla this Sunday, although they currently sit third with 57 points, 10 units behind the Catalans.

LaLiga: European spots and relegation zone

Athletic Club remains 4th and is lurking behind Atlético, while Betis (5th) and Villarreal (6th) complete the spots for European competitions. Below the 'groguets' is, for now, Celta (7th), ahead of Rayo (8th). Further back are Mallorca (9th) and Real Sociedad (10th), and starting the second half of the table are Sevilla (11th) and Getafe (12th), followed by Girona (13th) and Osasuna (14th).

Valencia is currently 15th, above Espanyol (16th) and Alavés (17th). Occupying the relegation spots are Leganés (18th), Las Palmas (19th), and Valladolid (20th). LaLiga continues its Matchday 29 this weekend with seven pending matches to be played. The date closes on Monday, with Leganés-Osasuna.
