This is the LaLiga standings after FC Barcelona's victory over Alavés

The FC Barcelona secured a key victory in matchday 22 of LaLiga EA Sports 2024/25. The Blaugrana faced Alavés and took home three points that re-engage them in the title race (1-0). The Catalans (45) closed the gap in the standings after the 'slip' of Real Madrid (49) against Espanyol (1-0) and are only 3 points behind Atlético de Madrid despite their victory against Mallorca (2-0).

The goal from Robert Lewandowski allowed the Catalans to fully enter the fight for the lead. Meanwhile, the colchoneros found victory again in the league in a balanced match with goals from Samu Lino and Antoine Griezmann, while the merengues suffered a harsh blow in their visit to the periquito's home thanks to a goal from Carlos Romero.

Athletic Club after stumbling for the second day in a row, this time against Betis (2-2). Meanwhile, Villarreal (5th) and Rayo Vallecano (6th) complete the places for qualification to European competitions. Below the Bermellones is Osasuna (7th) thanks to its victory against Real Sociedad.

Barça re-engages in LaLiga

Mallorca is eighth after its fall at Riyadh Air Metropolitano, and Betis is in ninth place after drawing against Athletic Club. For its part, Girona is tenth awaiting its duel against Las Palmas, while Real Sociedad is eleventh after leaving El Sadar defeated.

Sevilla are 12th after drawing 0-0 with Getafe (14th) and Celta are 13th despite losing at Valencia. Meanwhile, Las Palmas are in 15th place, overtaking Leganés who are in 16th position despite being beaten by Rayo Vallecano.

Espanyol (17th) is on the verge of the last positions, with Alavés, Valencia and Valladolid occupying the relegation places. The matchday ends this Monday with the pending match between Girona and Las Palmas.
