Barça and Celta drew 2-2 at Balaídos. The Catalans are now 5 points ahead of their closest rivals, Atleti, in the league table
FC Barcelona suffered an unexpected 'stumble' on matchday fourteen of LaLiga EA Sports 2024/25. The Blaugrana team visited Celta de Vigo and could not go beyond a draw at Balaídos (2-2). However, Hansi Flick's team maintains the sole lead (34) with a distance of 5 points over their closest pursuer, Atlético de Madrid, who defeated Alavés at home (2-1).
Despite goals from Raphinha and Lewandowski, the Blaugranas could not prevent the Celtistas from equalizing thanks to goals from González and Álvarez. For their part, Atleti achieved an important comeback with goals from Antoine Griezmann and Alexander Sorloth, while Real Madrid will seek to regain second place this Sunday, November 24, when they visit Leganés.
Villarreal, who also have a game in hand, are fourth before travelling to Pamplona to face Osasuna (7th). Behind them is Girona after their 4-1 thrashing of Espanyol, and below the red-and-whites is Mallorca (6th) after beating Las Palmas (2-3).
Barça remains top of La Liga despite the draw
Athletic Club dropped to eighth place awaiting their match against Real Sociedad, who remain in tenth position. Meanwhile, Real Betis fell to ninth place after being beaten by Valencia (4-2).
Celta is in eleventh place and Rayo is twelfth ahead of their match against Sevilla (13th). Leganés are fourteenth before hosting Real Madrid, while Getafe are fifteenth after beating Valladolid (2-0), overtaking Alavés who dropped to sixteenth place.
On the verge of the last positions is Las Palmas (17th), with Valencia, Espanyol and Valladolid occupying the relegation places. The matchday will end next Sunday, November 24, with the four remaining matches being played.
