Minutes before the ball started rolling in a new Catalan derby, the culés present in the stands of the Estadi Olimpic Lluís Companys celebrated three of the great stars of FC Barcelona. Aitana Bonmatí, Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski received a standing ovation from the fans for the individual distinctions received this week.
The Barça midfielder made history on Monday 28 October by being awarded her second consecutive Ballon d'Or, joining Alexia Putellas as the only two footballers to achieve this milestone. Last Saturday, the player also offered the trophy to those present at the Estadi Johan Cruyff before the 4-0 win over Eibar.
For his part, Lamine, another of the great protagonists of the gala organised by France Football and UEFA, shared with the Barcelona fans the Kopa Trophy that he received the previous Monday. The Barça '19' was crowned the best U-21 player in the world and joined Pedri (2021) and Gavi (2022) as the three Barça players to have received this recognition in its six editions.
Lewandowski, the MVP of LaLiga in October
Finally, Robert Lewandowski completed the celebrations by presenting the LaLiga MVP award in October to the Montjuïc stands. The Pole was awarded this award after closing last month with a double in the 0-4 against Real Madrid after having previously scored a hat-trick against Alavés (0-3) and two more against Sevilla (5-1), adding 14 goals in the first 11 games of the league championship.
