FC Barcelona achieved its ninth consecutive victory in LaLiga this 2025 against Girona (4-1). Discover the great blue-and-red streak!
The thrashing against Girona (4-1) allowed FC Barcelona to extend its streak of consecutive victories in LaLiga this 2025. Since matchday 21 (7-1 against Valencia), Hansi Flick's team has swept all its rivals in the tournament, with an impressive tally of 30 goals scored and only 5 conceded in the last two months of competition.
Not surprisingly, with 27 points still to play for, the culés are undisputed leaders of the tournament, with a 3-point lead over Real Madrid. Barça has managed to overcome Alavés (1-0), Sevilla (1-4), Rayo (1-0), Las Palmas (0-2), Real Sociedad (4-0), Atlético de Madrid (2-4), and Osasuna (3-0) before repeating their thrashing from the first half against Míchel's team.
In total, the team has already accumulated 21 victories and 82 goals scored in 29 matches (3.06 per game), a true madness. As the season's final stretch approaches, the culés look unbeatable on their way to their 28th league title and, at the same time, the third treble in their history, although there are still two decisive months left to close the 2024-25 season.
Barça surpasses its best winning streak in LaLiga since 2018-19
The longest winning streak of FC Barcelona in LaLiga remains at 16 matches, achieved in the 2010-11 season, with Pep Guardiola on the bench. This historic mark began on October 16, 2010, with a 2-1 victory against Valencia and extended until February 5, 2011, when Barça defeated Atlético de Madrid 3-0 with a hat-trick from Leo Messi.
During those 16 matches, the blue-and-red team surpassed the legendary Real Madrid of the 1960-61 season, which held the previous record with 15 consecutive victories. This streak remains the absolute record of the club in the league competition and one of the most notable in LaLiga history. That season, the culés lifted the league title with 96 points, four more than Madrid. Additionally, they won their fourth Champions League, at Wembley against Manchester United (3-1) and went on an unbeaten run of 28 matches.
Previously, the best winning streak in the league for the blue-and-red team dated back to the 2018-19 season, with eight consecutive victories. Between December 2018 and January 2019 (from matchday 14 to 21), Ernesto Valverde's team defeated Villarreal (2-0), Espanyol (0-4), Levante (0-5), Celta (2-0), Getafe (1-2), Eibar (3-0), Levante (3-1), and Girona (0-2) to head towards another league title. In that season, Barça also went 29 matches without losing, falling 10 short of the absolute record set by Luis Enrique's team in 2015-16 (39).
