Pau Cubarsí expressed his satisfaction for reaching the final of the Olympic Games with Spain. The FC Barcelona central defender appreciated the victory against Morocco and took the opportunity to joke about his vacation in a very atypical summer for the defender
Spain's comeback against Morocco (1-2) left the National Team on the verge of achieving Olympic gold in Paris. After the hard-fought victory against the Africans, the FC Barcelona centre-back spoke with 'La Sexta' about how he has had his first great international experience. "It's worth staying without a vacation if it's to bring home a medal," the Catalan said laughing in the mixed zone.
Regarding the tournament in general, he added: "It is difficult to explain everything we feel after more than 30 days concentrated. It is being very intense," added the culé central defender. Pau was left out of Luis de la Fuente's final list for the Euro Cup, but he has made the most of Santi Denia's trust to shine in Paris. Next Friday, La Roja will look for the gold medal that eluded it in the Tokyo 2020 final against Brazil.

Regarding the duel against Morocco, Pau acknowledged the difficulty of a match in which La Roja was at a disadvantage at half-time. "They took the lead and we had to attack one hundred percent," admitted the Catalan defender. Goals from Fermín López and Juanlu sealed the comeback, with the Barça midfielder as 'MVP' after assisting the Sevilla player.
On Friday at 6:00 p.m. (CEST), Spain will seek its second gold (the first, in 1992) in Olympic football against France, who this Monday also fought to overcome Egypt in an intense match (3-1). Thierry Henry's team started losing and had to wait for extra time to turn the result around, thus fulfilling the predictions that placed France as one of the main favorites of the tournament, although this is the first time they have reached the final. On Thursday, Egypt and Morocco will define the bronze winner.
